Bra-Line Back Lift

If substantial weight loss has left sagging skin that diet and exercise can’t fix, a bra-line back lift may be the ideal solution. This procedure removes excess skin and fat to smooth and contour the bra-line area, improving the tone and overall appearance of the upper back.

What Is a Bra-Line Back Lift?

A bra-line back lift is a cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper back, particularly in the area where a bra sits. The surgery helps smooth and firm the back, reducing rolls or folds for a more toned appearance.

It is often performed alongside an arm lift and mastopexy as part of a comprehensive upper body lift, creating a balanced, smoother, and more youthful contour across the entire upper torso.

Who Is a Suitable for a Bra-Line Back Lift?

A bra-line back lift is ideal for individuals with loose, sagging, or uneven skin along the upper back and bra-line area, often resulting from significant weight loss or natural aging. Suitable candidates should be in overall good health, maintain a stable weight, and have realistic expectations regarding the procedure’s results and recovery process.

Benefits of Back Lift Surgery

A bra-line back lift can help improve the shape and appearance of the upper back by removing excess skin and fat, creating a smoother, firmer silhouette. The procedure offers several benefits, including:

Smoother, firmer upper back through the removal of loose skin

Reduced folds or skin rolls, especially around the bra-line

Improved comfort and fit when wearing bras or fitted clothing

Enhanced overall upper torso contour for a balanced look

Long-lasting results when weight is maintained

These benefits make a bra-line back lift an effective option for those looking to refine their upper back and achieve a more toned, youthful appearance.

How You Prepare for a Buttock Lift

Before a buttock lift, you’ll have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and ensure the procedure is safe for you. During this initial visit, your surgeon will likely:

Review your medical history: Be ready to discuss current and past medical conditions, medications, and any previous surgeries.

Discuss weight and lifestyle: If your interest in a buttock lift is related to weight loss, the surgeon may ask detailed questions about your weight changes and diet.

Conduct a physical exam: The surgeon will examine your buttocks, skin, and lower body to determine the best treatment plan, which may include taking photos for your medical record and requesting blood tests.

Discuss your expectations: Clearly explain what you hope to achieve from the surgery and make sure you understand the potential benefits, risks, and possible scarring.

Buttock Lift Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buttock lift surgery

What is a buttock lift?

A buttock lift is a cosmetic surgery that removes excess skin and fat from the buttocks to lift, firm, and improve their shape. It’s often combined with other body contouring procedures like a tummy tuck or lower body lift.

ho is a good candidate for a buttock lift?

Ideal candidates are adults in good overall health who have sagging or loose skin in the buttock area due to aging, weight loss, or genetics. Candidates should have a stable weight and realistic expectations.

Does a buttock lift increase the size of my buttocks?

No, a buttock lift reshapes and tightens the buttocks but does not add volume. For added fullness, it can be combined with a buttock augmentation using fat transfer or implants.

How long does a buttock lift take?

A buttock lift typically takes 2 to 3 hours, but if combined with other procedures such as a lower body lift, it can last up to 6 hours.

What is the recovery time after a buttock lift?

Most patients can return to light activities within 2–3 weeks, but full recovery may take 6–8 weeks. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are common during the first few weeks.

Are there risks or complications with a buttock lift?

Yes, as with any surgery, risks include infection, scarring, bleeding, asymmetry, and delayed wound healing. A consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon can help minimise risks.

How much does a buttock lift cost?

Prices start from around £9,000, typically covering the consultation, surgery, and post-operative care. Final costs depend on the extent of the procedure and whether additional treatments like liposuction are needed.

How should I prepare for a buttock lift?

Preparation includes a medical review, physical exam, blood tests, and discussing your goals with your surgeon. You may be advised to stop smoking, avoid certain medications, and maintain a stable weight before surgery.

"

I was very concerned about my breast implant removal and the shape I would be left with. I opted for a removal and an uplift. I love the look of my breasts after the operation. They have a great shape and I feel so confident about my new look. I was also concerned about the scarring but that seems to be fading relatively quickly. An amazing surgeon he put me at ease throughout and I wish I had done this sooner. If I were to have further surgery I would go back to Andrej.

"

I am incredibly pleased with the outstanding care and expertise Maria Chasapi has brought to my surgery. From the initial consultation to the final follow-up, her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were second to none. She took the time to understand my goals, explained every step with clarity, and made me feel completely at ease throughout the process. The results have exceeded my expectations—not just aesthetically, but in how confident and comfortable I now feel.

"

Mr Salibi listened to my concerns, he explained the procedure in great detail and answered my list of questions. His persona, his calmess, his reassurance left me feeling at ease and I was so eager to have my tummy tuck after years of hiding my body under smocks and over shirts. I am now six weeks post op and cannot stop smiling... My scar is so neat, so perfect and is healing exceptionally well. My body confidence has returned and I cannot thank My Salibi enough for working his magic.
